It all depends on the tasks. If, for example, you need to quickly and often create many lightweight virtual machines that do not have special requirements for stability, then of course it is better to choose software virtualization, for example, OpenVZ, LXC hypervisors and others. And if you have special requirements for the stability of virtual machines, then it is better to choose hardware virtualization on KVM, HyperV and other hypervisors.
